It's too cheap. |

Don't be fooled. It IS cheap - but it's cheap for a reason.

We already have a training database. |
 |
| A. |
And does it do all that TrainReq does?
|
 |
Does your database show, at a glance, who needs what training and by when?
Or do you have to work all that out yourself?
|
|
 |
Does your database calculate dates and statuses automatically?
Or do you have to work them out and assign them by hand?
|
|
 |
Does your database allow you to back-date or forward-date your training requirements,
to show training requirements for a previous or future period?
Or would you have to go through and work all that out by hand?
|
|
 |
Does your database generate the reports that you want? With statistical summaries?
Or do you have to copy the information to a spreadsheet and fiddle with it?
|
|
 |
Can you enter the minimum amount of information as & when you have it,
and still get meaningful work out of the database?
Or do you have to key in a whole load of stuff just to get it to work at all?
|
|
 |
How hard is your database working for you?
Or are you working for it? |
 |
Half of all the "databases" that we look at (and we see A LOT) turn out not to be
databases at all, but spreadsheets, where you have to continually change the
information to keep it up-to-date - in the process erasing what was there before -
like forever rubbing out and writing in new entries on some vast sheet of paper.
Of the other half - that do use some kind of genuine database software -
at least half of them make so little use of the database features,
they might as well be spreadsheets too.
Very few even come close to offering anything like the range of features
that come as standard with TrainReq.
And certainly for nowhere near the same sort of price.

It sounds too complicated. |
 |
| A. |
Not for the person using it. We've tried to do the complicated bit, in the way that we've designed and built TrainReq,
in order to ensure that it's as easy to use as any database application can be.
We don't hide essential functions away on sub-sub-menus and require you to get out
the Ouija board to work out what and where they are.
We see that sort of lazy design all the time in other products, and it irritates us every bit
as much as it does you.
We don't expect you to be clairvoyant, or to learn a whole new way of doing things,
just for the privilege of using our product. The whole point of TrainReq is that it should be a help not a hindrance.
It has a simple, logical structure, with everything that we hope you need right there
on the screen in front of you. And it comes with extensive and detailed Help written
in normal English not patronising geek-speak. If you can work a computer to any
extent at all, then you can use TrainReq. There's nothing to it. Why not try it out,
by clicking here?

I like doing everything the hard way. |
 |
| A. |
And working late (for no extra pay.)
And making mistakes (because there's never enough time.)
And getting blamed for it (because it goes with the territory.)
In which case, you're probably right: TrainReq won't help to increase those experiences. Good luck!
